My work transforms fabric into a painterly medium of colour, gesture, and improvisation. Using hand-dyed cottons and silks, I layer raw-edge appliqué, dense stitching, and surface design to construct compositions in cloth. My practice first took shape following a moment of collective rupture, which led me to develop the improvisational raw-edge language that continues to define my work. Since then, I have explored themes of upheaval, resilience, and renewal through cloth—drawing on natural cycles and subtle disruptions as catalysts. Fabric, with its ability to tear, fray, and mend, becomes both subject and metaphor.
